The Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) is ready today to defend the Venezuelan peace and strongly respond to the right-wing’s destabilizing plans, said Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino.
The military high command condemned the terrorist operation dismantled by intelligence agencies, through which elements of the opposition party Voluntad Popular and disloyal police officers intended to attack two military units in the state of Sucre this Sunday.
‘I strongly condemn any intention of destabilization and violence by ultra-right groups that seek to fill our country with blood, showing their pettiness and moral wickedness,’ wrote the minister in the social network Twitter.
‘Every despicable act, product of the precariousness and political incompetence of these sectors, against the people of Venezuela and the FANB, we take it as an affront to our honor. We are ready to defend peace and respond with total strength,’ said the incumbent.
‘The FANB remains alert to seek, detect and capture those who intend to attack the people of Venezuela and its barracks, which are for the people’s defense,’ said the head of the Strategic Operational Command, Remigio Ceballos.
The communication and information minister, Jorge Rodriguez, denounced the day before that the violent actions were intended to distract public attention from the corruption scandal involving the president of the National Assembly (Parliament) in contempt, Juan Guaido.
Rodriguez explained that the objective was ‘to produce military uprisings that would generate bloodbaths, end Christmas holidays, cover up acts of corruption in the National Assembly, try to reach January to re-elect Guaido’ at the head of the Legislative.
He also pointed out Guaido and Voluntad Popular leader Leopoldo Lopez, who led on April 30 the siege of the Francisco de Miranda air base as part of an attempted coup d’état against the government of Nicolas Maduro.
Since his self-proclamation as president in charge on January 23, 2019, with the support of the United States, the Venezuelan government has repeatedly denounced Juan Guaido’s participation in the embezzlement of state assets, as well as his plans to generate a change of regime through violent means, and his links with paramilitaries.
