Employees identifying themselves as “a global coalition of Microsoft workers” have published an open letter to Microsoft President Brad Smith and CEO Satya Nadella, saying “We did not sign up to develop weapons, and we demand a say in how our work is used.” But some argue that the US can’t mount an effective national defense without state-of-the-art technology, like the kind produced by Microsoft.
