Venezuela’s Executive Vice President Tareck El Aissami said the Venezuelan people will face any empire that seeks to undermine sovereignty, a goal pursued by statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump who threatened to militarily intervene in the country.
«This people will not be colony of anybody. Here are the sons of Bolivar. We are not to obey or kneel before their threats,» said El Aissami during a political activity in Portuguesa state, central region of the country.
He said the onslaught the American empire and the right-wing governments of the region have been driving against Venezuela began with the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution.
«This aggression has not just started, it is since December 6, 1998 when the empire attacked Hugo Chavez, since that moment they has not stopped a single day of aggression and threats,» he said.
El Aissami said that in order to justify a military intervention and seize natural wealth, the United States shield itself under an ambiguous speech of economic and political instability.
The executive vice president recalled that the unreasonable aggression of the U.S. empire against Venezuela were ratified yesterday during a meeting held by Juan Manuel Santos with U.S. Vice President Mike Pencer, where the possibility of blocking the country was discussed.
«They are cynical in their speech. They say that the people are suffering because there is no food and medicines but they come to support the financial siege,» he said.
